There is not a lesbian community to be found. it is little clics of sour women from experience I have had.

I totally agree! After a break-up four months ago, I've been trying to meet new people and make new friends in the lesbian community. For a community that claims to be "open" and be a "place for everyone," the reality is that it is a "closed-door" community and "newbies" are basically unwelcome.

For example, I attended FourBeanSalad's show at UBU this past Saturday evening. I went alone hoping to meet FRIENDS --not a one-night stand or anything of the sort. While the band was great, the crowd was less-than friendly and I will not return to UBU --at least not without my own "click."

Backstreet has a lesbian crowd most weekends too. I don't have a problem finding people to talk to but I do know what you mean about people being "one-night-stands" kinda people... There really isn't a community here. I'd like there to be and I'd be interested in having a group that has picnics (like they do in MI).

Like erryl, I wish there were more lesbian events. Even at Backstreet, there are "clicks" and no one seems to be willing to share their circle of friends with a stranger. It's not like I have a third eye in the middle of my forehead or anything. I'm an attractive, professional woman --housebroken and everything-- and the lack of "community" in Little Rock amazes me.

In 1995, I started the first (and only) gay and lesbian organization at UALR. We had a big membership and it was quite successful. However, I graduated in 1996 and the organization eventually fizzled. I have attended local pride events and gatherings, yet I leave disappointed. --Disappointed in a community that claims to be "open and accepting" but is nothing but a contradiction.

Hey Erryl... I have a laser graphics business in Bryant. I am wondering if we might could help each other out business wise. I engrave and laser etch almost everything --including jewelry and picture frames. --Might be a nice "service" to include in your shop.

If you're interested, email me at dpsbailey@comcast.net and we can go from there.

I totally agree that there are no lesbians in arkansas. either they are looking for sex or they want to play games. Isn't there any lesbians out there that would just like to meet and make new friends without the game plaing and sex involved?? I am not opposed to sex but that is not what is first on my mind when I look for a partner.

There is a community of lesbians and bisexual females and it is running rampant in our local school systems. My neice is bisexual and her sister is a lesbian, and they have an entire network of support and friendship in their high school. The colleges also seem to have little mini communities, but it seems that it's us adults who are having trouble forming a united front. From my experiences being bisexual,it's no wonder we are struggling as a united community. Most lesbians I have met shunned me when they find out that I am bisexual because I "won't choose sides." I happen to be bisexual and choose polyamory as a lifestyle. I have been in a Triad relationship for several years and I love both of my partners with my heart and soul. I know this isn't the choice for everyone, but it works for me and my family. I think that acceptance is the key. Does anyone have any suggestions that would bring us as a culture closer together?
